Bandar Lampung Park

A Smart Sculpture to Improve Social Facilities

The Park Enggal is located at the center of the City Bandar Lampung. It is currently a vacant plot, occupied by food stalls at the perimeter and a local artist colony.

The aim is to improve the social facilities in the area, by transforming the plot into an integrated realm that provides services for children, artists and inhabitants of the surrounding neighborhoods.

A large elephant-bamboo sculpture marks the center of the park, performing both as a strong identity carrier and an exciting playground. The sculpture is designed and constructed by local craftsmen. The elephant theme can be expanded with the help of local artists, creating small sculptures to be used for city branding. The park is divided in two parts. A lush green bamboo maze acting as an educational pop-up book for children, and a multifunctional square for food stalls and festivals.
