REWATCH: Felixx’ talk at Pakhuis De Zwijger
The Street Belongs To Us – On Monday January 23rd, Felixx was invited by Pakhuis de Zwijger to talk about the possibilities for a fairer share of our streetscape.
When you close your eyes and imagine a perfect street, what does it look like? What essential elements should not be missed in the future streetscape? How do we equally divide space in order for everybody to feel safe? When imagining a street, we tend to think from a car drivers’ perspective, but the street belongs to all of us!
Now that space in cities is becoming increasingly scarce, we must think about reforming our streetscape. The quality of life in the city and the health of the residents are central to this issue. Together with experts in the field of urban planning, landscape design, policy and sustainability: Marco te Brömmelstroet, Adriaan Geuze, Nanda Sluijsmans and others, we imagined the perfect street.
Michiel van Driessche shared real life examples from our project and publication - NEW SPACE design guideline liveability of public space. The first steps from dreams to reality.
