Felixx visited Kops Plateau to gain insight into the cultural history of the area.
Felixx, in collaboration with Bureau Buiten, visited Kops Plateau, Nijmegen, to gain insight into the cultural history of the area. Facilitated by the municipality of Nijmegen, various locations were explored during a beautiful hike.
In 2021, the Dutch-Germanic Limes (Northern border of the Roman empire) were designated as UNESCO world heritage.
The municipality of Nijmegen has announced the development of a Masterplan Roman Heritage, focusing on transforming the Arnhem-Nijmegen region into Roman region of the Netherlands. Kops Plateau is one of the areas offering possibilities for creating a landscape park where the Roman history is visible, accessible and livable.
This excursion provided us great insights of the Roman history in the area, which will help us benefit in the further development of Kops Plateau.
