Public space design guidelines for Food Innovation Strip in Ede-Wageningen approved
Ede-Wageningen
The Food Innovation Strip Ede-Wageningen is the Agri-food knowledge centre of the FoodValley Region, where innovation and knowledge exchange are paramount. Municipalities, companies and institutes work together towards improved, more sustainable and safer food production. Last year Felixx developed a book of guidelines to physically embed this concept. The manual has been approved November 8th by both municipalities Ede and Wageningen.
The Food Innovation Strip Ede-Wageningen covers a distance of 11 km and connects Wageningen University & Research with the Bussiness and Science Park Wageningen, the knowledge Campus Ede and the future World Food Center in Ede. Proposals for this identity carrier are the linear arboretum, the custom made tree pots shaped as Erlenmeyer flasks from the lab. The bicycle path along the strip has a recognizable colour and a high tech smart lighting system integrated into the wooden light poles.
