Campus Lelystad
Diverse Learning Environment
Campus Lelystad is a new secondary education campus, located in Lelystad. It provides a small-scale learning environment to 3.800 high school students of all educational levels.
The design of Felixx anchors the campus as important public space in the city. It offers the students a rich learning environment, not a one dimensional learning institute. The majority of the youth in Lelystad will grow up on this campus, and they deserve an inspiring environment for that.
The campus is organized as a natural, green and watery landscape with detached, recognizable buildings as sculptures. Water is added to the south and east side, with access bridges to all outdoor spaces. The campus is framed by a cycling path, with the bicycle parking placed in the green on the campus site. Multiple programmed sites are placed in the natural landscape as ‘cultural objects’. These elements give the campus design an informed balance between rest and dynamics, between collectivity and uniqueness and between individuality and synergy.
