Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are design methods and strategies for (re)designing the city based on natural processes, allowing the city to once again become part of the natural system it belongs to. As a result, a city no longer has to take measures to protect itself against natural forces, but can instead make use of them, which provides space and quality. This is urgently needed because we face many challenges: climate change, extreme rain and drought, loss of biodiversity...

Felixx Landscape Architects & Planners is an expert in the field of NBS. With our knowledge of Nature-based Solutions, we help cities adapt to climate change and become more environmentally friendly, socially and economically resilient. We design urban landscapes that provide strong ecosystem services and many additional benefits. By connecting research to implementation of NBS in projects, we build natural environments in various places in the Netherlands and abroad.

Rotterdam Architecture Month is the Netherlands’ largest architecture festival about the future of the city. The month takes place in June and each year a new appropriate location is chosen for the festival heart. It is open to everyone, regardless of knowledge or experience with architecture.

Are you an aspiring (landscape) architect looking to challenge yourself? Then our Portfolio Speeddating is for you! We offer short (15 min) speeddates with professionals in the workfield where you get the chance to present your portfolio and receive feedback on it. It's ideal for students or graduates who want to improve their portfolio and presenting skills. Book your spot here in advance!

Immerse yourself in this presentation about Nature-Based Solutions by Michiel van Driessche, Founder and Partner of Felixx Landscape Architects & Planners and appointed City Architect Groningen. Design research, developing knowledge, and implementing it in built projects form the foundation of Felixx's work. Sharing this knowledge contributes to accelerating the transition to a sustainable, climate-adaptive world. That's why Felixx participates in various events in various ways, from roundtable discussions to trade fairs, from biennials to festivals. We are eager to share our knowledge and expertise in the field of Nature-based Solutions and climate adaptation. Periodically, we also organize events at our office in Rotterdam.
