Nationale Groendag
october 9 2025
During the Nationale Groendag, Michiel Van Driessche and Anne Geertje Bouman, the Quality of Life Project Researcher for the Municipality of Groningen will present our project New Space, the Design Guideline Livability of Public Space.
About Nationale Groendag
The Nationale Groendag is organized by Stichting Steenbreek and the municipality and province of Groningen. It is a day to collectively explore and exchange how greenery can lead to more attractive cities while equally strengthening social dynamics. Discussing the challenges of finding a balance between densification and greenery in combination with a major housing crisis, while also sharing how we can create and implement guidelines to create public spaces that encourages greenery, liveability and experience.
New Space
In recent years, the number of inhabitants in cities has grown but public spaces have not grown to the same extent. To address this issue, Felixx created a New Space, a guideline to help transform the current state of public spaces. Designing streets where mobility is no longer the guiding principle but instead, will join accessibility, safety, human perception, health, social interaction, ecology, climate adaptation, economy and cultural history in making the street.
We hope to meet you there!
