Symposium: 'The Green City of the Future'

On October 3rd, we’re hosting the symposium 'The Green City of the Future' in Almere. Together with Gemeente Almere and PosadMaxwan, we’re bringing policymakers, researchers, and urban planners from the Netherlands and Belgium together to exchange knowledge on creating #sustainable and #nature-driven inner cities. We have an exciting program with inspiring keynotes, a presentation on Almere's development vision, and knowledge sessions where multiple cities will share their themes and insights. Register now and help shape the future of green, healthy cities! alMERE 2040   The Natuurkrachtig Hart van de Stad Almere project envisions transforming the heart of Almere by 2040 into a more urban, vibrant, and green area. Developed with PosadMaxwan for the municipality, it aims to combine urban densification with enhanced green spaces through Nature-Based Solutions. The plan integrates housing, work, education, and amenities into an ecological urban landscape, with the central Weerwater lake serving as the core of a broader ecosystem. The project seeks to create a sustainable, adaptive space where the city and nature coexist harmoniously, enhancing the economic and social vitality of the city's center. The Symposium The symposium focuses on the growing challenge of urban development and densification, with a particular emphasis on integrating natural elements such as water and greenery. Both in the Netherlands and internationally, there is increasing attention to creating future-proof and attractive city centers. The event is centered around the exchange of knowledge and expertise, where different cities come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities of urban development.
