Yue Xiu 353 Transformation

Open and Vibrant Office Environment

Yue Xiu 353 is a former gated industrial area, located along a river in Shanghai. The project transforms this industrial area into an open and vibrant office environment, as a welcoming ‘creative town’.

In order to achieve this, different existing, but previously overlooked, qualities of the site are turned into specific pocket parks and plazas. They act as identity carriers and platforms with facilities. These pocket parks provide complementary functions and atmospheres: an intimate terrace, a flexible makers square, a sport ground, an urban farming terrace and a water plaza along the river. They stimulate interaction amongst users, laying the foundation for a successfully functioning business campus.
