Science and Technology City Chongqing

This project aims to restore Chongqing’s image as a ‘Shanshui City’ by creating a balanced urban environment where mountains, rivers and the city co-exist in harmony. Contrary to the commonly practiced ‘tabula rasa’ approach, the organization of the future district is based on existing values of the site, and explores valuable synergies with the surrounding developments and landscapes. The framework identifies these potential qualities and optimizes them. It brings hierarchy to the existing network and empowers a vibrant and prosperous business community. Moreover, it enhances the distinctive landscape features the site has to offer, by turning them into characteristic public spaces. The city promotes a balanced lifestyle with an efficient working and abundant leisure life. It combines modern and tradition, efficiency and health, and urban and natural environment. It is the prosperous city of tomorrow for Chongqing.
